I live in Australia, iFlicks grabs the metadata inclusive of local ratings, I was able to correct a playlist of about 50 movies - my rating, movie posters, actors, synopsis, genre, release date, classification rating - in less than 10 mins. It does cost but it's a case of what is your time worth or how important is it to fix that issue. I'm not sure whether you found a solution yet, I have tried everything out there and there is only one VERY GOOD and thankfully blazing FAST third party solution that can edit the metadata of files directly in iTunes without needing to copy, rewrite or any of the other tedious hoops that everything else on the market puts you through, it's called iFlicks. That being said, it appears the content ratings are stored in the ITunes Music Library.xml file (eg shown at the bottom of this post) - does anyone know if I can edit the ratings in the XML file or is this likely to cause issues?ĬommentsInformation courtesy of TMDb (Used with permission.įile://localhost/Volumes/iTunes%20HDD/iTunes%20Media/Movies/Pineapple%20Express/ 01%20Pineapple%20Express.m4v I called Apple and they are looking into it further however the 'specialist' I spoke to advised that using 3rd party software might be the only option. Using 3rd Party software to do this isn't really a solution for me as I have a large number of video files that are missing Content Ratings and the time it will take to add this metadata using MetaX or Subler is just silly (considering how much time I have already spent getting everything to work in itunes).
